Russon is new chief of TM’s Driving Force

By Press Gazette

By Colin Crummy

Chris Russon has been appointed chief editor at Trinity Mirror’s regional motoring content sharing service, Driving Force.

Russon, a former news editor of The Birmingham Post, takes over from David Whinyates, who is retiring. But Whinyates, who managed Driving Force since the service was established in 2002, will continue to freelance as consultant motoring editor to the service and co-ordinate motoring editorial for the Evening Gazette, where he has been motoring editor for 38 years.

He said: "There are some exciting new developments in the pipeline and with his experience and the respect he commands in the world of motoring journalism, Chris is the right man to take Driving Force forward to even greater things."
