UK internet users are nearly twice as likely to click on porn as news, according to web metrics company SimilarWeb.
It claims to use a worldwide panel totalling tens of millions of internet users who have downloaded its widgets to calculate web traffic.
It estimates that in June, 8.5 per cent of UK internet traffic was to adult sites,15.6 per cent to search engines, 7.4 per cent to social media sites and 4.7 per cent to news and media.
