British-owned celebrity picture agency Splash has pulled out all the stops to welcome David Beckham to its LA heartland.
At the end of this season, Beckham is swapping Real Madrid for LA Galaxy.
The paps will greet him wearing a specialy designed matching “Team Beckham” football strip.
Joint owner of Splash, Gary Morgan said: “Posh knows about them and she phoned David in Madrid and they were laughing.
“We will be sending her a shirt. The idea is it’s going to be crazy here when they come, so we want to show the nice pap side and show we are not a threat.”
Meanwhile, Splash News has bought new offices to house its London bureau. Splash – headquartered in California but expanding fast in the UK – was previously in rented accommodation in Clerkenwell, central London.
Splash’s new home is spread across two floors of a building on Farringdon Road, a stone’s throw from The Guardian premises.
The extra space has allowed Splash to divide its departments, with photodesk and video desks on one floor, and the human interest features department on the other.
