York Press editor leaves after 13 years as Newsquest merges daily’s operations with Bradford’s Telegraph and Argus

Newsquest is reportedly merging the editorial operations of the Press in York and Bradford's Telegraph and Argus with the loss of an editor.

According to Holdthefrontpage, Press editor Steve Hughes is to leave after 13 years on 9 January.

The move will see the Herald and Argus's Perry Austin-Clarke made group editor of Yorkshire, a role which will also encorporate overseeing a number of weekly titles.

The average daily circulations of the Press and Telegraph and Argus were, according to ABC, 19.643 and 18,906 in the first half of 2014.
