The Birmingham Post and Mail’s interim management team has been made permanent.
The company has appointed former Liverpool Daily Echo editor John Griffiths as the company’s managing director.
Griffiths replaces Steve Brown who was part of the interim team drafted in after Trinity Mirror decided not to sell the company. Three members of the former Trinity Mirror Midlands management team left the paper in October after failing to secure a management buy out led by managing director John Bills.
Brown now becomes regional managing director for Trinity Mirror’s North East and Midlands titles.
The company has appointed Debbie Davies to the position of managing director of Coventry Newspapers.
Trinity Mirror Regionals managing director Georgina Harvey said: ‘I have been delighted by the progress and pace shown by the interim team, I have concluded the best outcome for the Midlands and North East, and the group as a whole, is to make this arrangement permanent.”
Brown said the appointments gave the Midlands “a sense of continuity.’
