Press Gazette reported on 8 September that the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette had complained that local MP Sir Stuart Bell had not returned more than 100 phone-calls made by its journalists. To clarify, the Evening Gazette reported that the calls had not been answered; it did not suggest that its reporters had left messages. We are happy to set the record straight.
This clarification was brokered by the Press Complaints Commission and it has been added to the original story.
