The Western Morning News has increased its editorial staffing by seven in preparation for the launch of its Sunday edition next month.
At the end of March, Local World said it would be creating a number of new jobs as it announced plans to turn the South West title into a seven-day operation.
Editor Bill Martin has said that number is seven, with some recruited from other Local World titles, according to Holdthefrontpage.
With the new Sunday set to launch on 22 June, he told the website: “It’s been a great process to go through and there’s awful lot of interest down here.
“It seems to have sparked people’s imagination all across the spectrum and we’re in a very positive frame of mind.”
HTFP said the majority of staff will work across both titles, but that a small number will be part of a specific Sunday team.
