A new monthly newspaper is to hit the streets of Scarborough this week, the second to launch this year.
The Scarborough Review, a free, 32-page tabloid, is to be available from tomorrow (Wednesday).
It comes five months after the launch of the Scarborough Voice, another monthly title that is distributed to homes in the area.
While the Scarborough Voice launched with a circulation of 15,000, some 10,000 copies of the Scarborough Review will be available from supermarkets, pubs and other shops in the area.
The launches come after the Scarborough Evening News, owned by Johnston Press, switched from daily to weekly frequency in April 2012.
The Scarborough Review will feature community news, features, sport, entertainment and leisure as well as advertising.
It has been launched by Pete Spence, a former Scarborough Evening News journalist, who is working with a sales manager.
Spence said: “We are delighted to finally see the Scarborough Review in print and it is very exciting, not only for us, but for the town as well.
“The response to the idea of a new newspaper for Scarborough and surrounding areas has been fantastic and we believe we have delivered a quality product, especially when you consider it is free to pick up.
“Ailsa Robertson (sales manager) and myself would like to thank everyone who has made the launch of this paper possible and we hope to grow and go from strength-to-strength in the future.”
