The Metro and Trinity Mirror's biggest regional websites saw the biggest year-on-year increases in website traffic in June.
Mail Online (10,912,083 unique users per day, up 35 per cent year on year) and The Guardian website (5,718,502, up 17 per cent) remain the biggest newspaper websites in the UK.
But the Coventry Telegraph (92,047, up 304 per cent) is the fastest growing newspaper website audited by ABC, according to the figures for last month.
It is followed by the Metro and Manchester Evening News as the second and third fastest growing.
This is the first month that year-on-year comparisons have been available for the Trinity Mirror regional newspaper websites included in the monthly ABC audit.
The Telegraph has benefited from the launch of a new mobile-friendly version of its website on 9 June. But traffic from its new football website Project Babb, launched in May, is not included in the June ABC.
The Telegraph has continued to grow its web traffic despite going behind a metered paywall in April 2013 (as the chart at the bottom of this page shows) when it set a monthly limit of 20 free articles per month.
The Mirror website continues to benefit from the fact that its main competitor, The Sun, charges for access. The high growth for Metro follows its relaunch in mobile-first format at the end of 2012.
