Newsquest has reportedly confirmed the loss of six jobs as part of a subbing hub shake-up.
The publisher is moving the production of its Sussex titles, including the Brighton Argus, to a subbing hub in Weymouth, Dorset.
According to Holdthefrontpage, the move has now led to the loss of six jobs at the subbing unit in Southampton, where the titles are currently produced.
According to the website, the moves were confirmed to staff by Southern Daily Echo editor-in-chief Ian Murray.
HTFP reported him as saying: “I can confirm that there will be an unfortunate loss of approximately 6FTE from the current sub editing and design posts in the Southampton department.”
