Mihir Bose to contribute to the Evening Standard

By Conrad Quilty-Harper

Mihir Bose, the former BBC sports news editor, is returning to print journalism to pen a regular sports feature for the London Evening Standard.

Bose will act as a contributor to the paper by interviewing a different sporting personality each week.

He resigned from his BBC role earlier this month, citing personal reasons, after more than two years as the corporation’s first sports news editor.

He was appointed to that role with a brief to expand coverage and appear regularly on news shows to offer analysis and insight to major sporting stories.

Previously he had worked for the Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph, where he started the latter paper’s ‘Inside Sports’ column.

After moving to the UK from his native India, he began his career at the London Broadcasting Corporation.

His work outside the world of sport includes appearances on BBC Radio 4’s Financial World Tonight, South Asia Report on the BBC World Service and What the Papers Say for Channel 4.
