The editor of the Mid Devon Gazette has taken on additional responsibility for Exeter's Express and Echo.
Patrick Phelvin has replaced Jon-Paul Hedge as editor of the twice-weekly newspaper.
According to his LinkedIn page, Phelvin was a production journalist at the Express and Echo between 2004 and 2006.
After a spell as a freelance, he returned to the company in 2007 as a sub-editor working across several South West titles.
He was made editor of the Mid Devon Gazette in January 2012.
Hedge had edited the Express and Echo since February 2014.
Both newspapers are now published by Local World, which was acquired by Trinity Mirror at the end of last year.
Northcliffe, which was taken over by Local World in 2012, took the Express and Echo from daily to weekly in 2011.
In February last year, Local World launched a second weekly edition of the title, meaning it now comes out on Mondays and Thursdays.
