Local World has appointed Tim Lethaby as editor of Blackmore Vale Media in Dorset.
Lethaby was formerly the chief sub-editor of the Mid Somerset series, responsible for the design and production of four weekly titles.
Managing director of Local World in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Dorset Sarah Pullen said: “It makes me proud because this is an internal promotion within our group as a result of Tim being involved in a development programme to meet his aspirations to become an editor.
“Local World is all about growing and developing real talent like Tim who has been a key member of our Mid Somerset team.
“Blackmore Vale is a very successful business with its publications and websites deeply rooted in their local Dorset communities. Tim’s experience and leadership will take it to a new level”.
Lethaby added: “Being West Country born and bred, this is an area I take great pride in.
“I have had a fantastic time in the Wells office and I am now looking forward to being at the helm of the Blackmore Vale publications and websites, which are so well respected in the communities they represent.”
Lethaby takes up his new post on 27 January 2014.
