Luke Jacobs (pictured above) has been appointed as Local World’s digital development editor for Kent Regional News and Media (KRNM).

Jacobs, working with senior editor Rebecca Smith, will head teams for the Canterbury Times, Maidstone and Medway News and Ashford Herald websites.

He joins KRNM from Local World sister division, Essex Chronicle Media Group, where he has been digital publisher for the Essex Chronicle and Brentwood Gazette since March 2013.

Previously, he worked for Archant London as a reporter, chief reporter and web editor at local papers in London and Surrey.

Richard Karn, managing director of South East businesses for Local World, said: “Luke has worked closely with the editorial team in Essex to ensure that digital publishing is at the heart of our overall service to readers in the county.”
