Regional publisher Johnston Press is reportedly to close the office of the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times.
It is not yet known where journalists for the weekly newspaper, which recorded an average circulation of 5,792 in 2013 according to ABC, will be based.
Holdthefrontpage reported a “local source” as saying they are likely to be relocated to the Burnley Express office, some 13 miles away.
In January, Johnston Press created what is believed to have been the first virtual office for a major UK regional newspaper, the Hemel Hempstead Gazette. The five journalists on the title work from home using the Atex content management system and are equipped with a laptop for video-conferencing.
