Dundee Evening Telegraph launches Saturday edition with 24-page entertainment supplement

By Freddy Mayhew

The Dundee Evening Telegraph is launching a Saturday edition called the Weekend Telegraph.

It will include a 24-page entertainment magazine with TV listings for the week ahead as well the usual blend of news, sport, features and reader offers and competitions.

Normally priced at 55p – the same price as the weekday editions – the paper’s first edition, expected out 20 August, will be free.

Editor Steven Bell said: “The Tully, as it’s fondly known around Dundee, has a proud history dating back almost 140 years.

“Over that time, we’ve provided the people of Dundee with the best coverage of local news and sport.

“I’m delighted that we will… be able to do that six days a week, instead of five.”

He added: “The Evening Telegraph has a loyal readership, and we’re excited to be able to give them more of what they already enjoy.”

The Telegraph, published by DC Thompson, has an average daily circulation of 16,855 according to the latest ABC figures.
