Sky News has signed Daily Telegraph editor-at-large and former BBC business editor Jeff Randall to front a weekly live business show.
Randall will present Jeff Randall Live on Sky News at 7.30pm every Monday.
Sky has promised the former Sunday Business editor will deliver interviews with ‘big hitters from the business world’as well as the latest breaking news.
Randall said: ‘British TV has needed a grown-up business discussion show for years. I’m thrilled to be launching the first one.”
Randall was appointed editor-at-large of the Daily Telegraph in November 2005, after nearly five years as the BBC’s business editor. He joined the BBC from Sunday Business, now The Business, which he edited from its launch in February 1998.
Randall spent nine years at the Sunday Times where he worked as assistant editor, sports editor and City & business editor on the Sunday Times. He was also a director of Times Newspapers from 1994 to 1995.
He writes a twice-weekly column for the Daily Telegraph and in 2006 broke the news for the paper that BBC director general Michael Grade was defecting to ITV.
Jeff Randall Live starts on 24 September.
