Telegraph Media Group has unveiled a series of promotions following last week’s news that 30 journalists were being made redundant at the newspaper group.
Sky News‘ former executive producer of new media, James Weeks, has joined Telegraph Media Group as head of video, overseeing the company’s video operations including news gathering, features and commercials.
Edward Roussel has been promoted to executive editor, digital, following last week’s departure of Marcus Warren, the former editor of telegraph.co.uk.
Other changes include:
Conrad Quilty-Harper has been made interactive news editor and will oversee graphics and data journalism, as well as working on data-driven investigative reporting projects.
Mark Hughes has been appointed New York correspondent after a stint as crime correspondent, and Martin Evans has been named as the new crime correspondent.
John Bingham has been appointed religious and social affairs editor.
Tom Whitehead has been appointed security editor and Martin Beckford has been made home affairs editor.
Former security correspondent Duncan Gardham has been appointed investigations correspondent.
Press Gazette understands that production journalists will feel the brunt of editorial redundancies taking place at TMG.
