Telegraph Media Group announces more cross-platform jobs

Telegraph Media Group has continued its integration of editorial teams across the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and telegraph.co.uk withmore appointments across the three platforms announced today.

Alison Kervin, who has written biographies of rugby coach Clive Woodward and player Jason Leonard, has been appointed chief sports interviewer and will write a regular interview slot for the Daily Telegraph as well as pieces for the Sunday paper and website.

Philip Johnston has been promoted to assistant editor, comment across the three platforms, following the appointment of Iain Martin as head of comment for Telegraph Media Group last month.

Following the abrupt departure of Daily Telegraph science correspondent Nic Fleming two weeks ago, TMG has created an integrated science team across both papers and the web including Roger Highfield and Richard Gray with regular contributions from professor Steve Jones.

The Telegraph has now made moves to integrate its team across all three platforms in science, business, sport, foreign and comment. Last week, Adrian Michaels was made head of foreign operations overseeing foreign news coverage across Telegraph Media Group.

In other moves announced today John Bingham, formerly chief reporter at the Press Association, has landed the role of senior reporter for the Daily Telegraph.

Christopher Hope, the paper’s home and legal affairs correspondent, has been promoted to home affairs editor and news reporter Stephen Adams has been promoted to arts correspondent. Long-standing Daily Telegraph arts correspondent Nigel Reynolds left the paper lat month in a round of exits which included social affairs reporter Sarah Womack and religious affairs correspondent Jonathan Petre.

The Telegraph’s star interviewer Jan Moir, winner of a British Press Awards in 2007, is understood to have been poached by the Daily Mail.
