Sun reveals new picture-led design for website

By Press Gazette

The Sun today unveiled a new look for its website Sun Online.

The new site has a stronger focus on picture-led content, possibly seeking to emulate the success of Mail Online, and aims to be easier to navigate and provide better promotion of social media sharing features.

The site now shares the same masthead as the print edition and is headed "The Sun".

Digital editor Derek Brown said: "The new look site is fresher, tidier and opens up a new world of commercial and social possibilities for The Sun.

'We're very excited about it and hope our loyal readers enjoy it too."

The site also aims to give more to the main stories of the day and coloured labeling of different sections, such as news features and sport.

The Sun is the only News International UK newspaper website which is remaining free to air. It is the fourth most popular UK newspaper online, with 25 million unique browsers a month according to ABC.
