Reed Business Information leads the field with 12 nominations in the Association of Online Publishers awards shortlist announced today.
The B2B publisher is listed in the best online business publisher and has four websites listed in the best business website category.
The Guardian got the most nominations of any newspaper with nine, though it loses out in the best online consumer publisher field which names Sun Online, IPC Media, Associated Northcliffe Digital, MSN, Hearst Digital and Telegraph.co.uk in the running.
IPC got nine nominations overall while the Financial Times, Hearst Digital/National Magazines, Incisive Media and The Sun all got five.

Another new prize, research & insight projects, sees both Trinity Mirror and Guardian.co.uk nominated for the digital audience analysis schemes.
Trinity Mirror’s ultra-local project at the Teeside Gazette is nominated in the best online team categoriy. The influential Gazette Communities site produces post-code specfic news by local correspondents.
AOP’s director Ruth Brownlee said, ‘This year’s shortlist shows that digital publishing is as vibrant as ever. We’ve had a record number of entries again from a really broad range of companies – broadcasting, B2B, consumer magazines and newspapers.
‘It’s enormously encouraging to see such fantastic work being produced across all disciplines of the industry such as design, commercial, editorial and technology. This shortlist is reflective of publishers who’ve managed to combine an innovative use of content with real commercial success. Our awards aim to showcase, reward and celebrate this level of excellence in digital publishing.’
The seventh AOP awards take place on 1 October at the London’s Hilton hotel, Park Lane, after the association’s day-long Digital Publishing Summit.
