PCC resolves Peaches Geldof complaint against Daily Star

By Press Gazette

A complaint from Peaches Geldof against the Daily Star has been resolved after mediation from the Press Complaints Commission.

Geldof complained through Swan Turton solicitors that an article claiming she had verbally abused footballer Wayne Rooney’s girlfriend Coleen McLoughlin was inaccurate.

The matter was resolved when the Star agreed to print the following correction: ‘In an article in our 16 May edition we reported that Peaches Geldof launched a verbal attack on Coleen McLoughlin, and she claimed that, like other Footballers’ Wives, she was cheap and chivvy and fake.

“We now accept that Peaches Geldof did not say those words about Coleen McLoughlin and apologise to her for any embarrassment and upset that our article may have caused.”
