NoW launches reader loyalty scheme

By Emma Slawinski

The News of the World has launched a web-based loyalty scheme offering readers the chance to save money on numerous goods and services.

The ‘Captain Cash’ scheme is encouraging readers to sign up by offering them a cash-back incentive.

Once signed up, readers are automatically given £5 of credit in an online account; additional credit will then be accrued by making purchases through the newspaper’s website.

The News of the World told readers yesterday: “Make purchases through the site and you will get money off in the form of cash-back credited to your account.

“When you £25 of credit get it paid into your bank account or use it to buy online vouchers.”

The deals negotiated by the paper include goods like replica football shirts and X Factor gifts, and savings on day-to-day shopping.

The News International title introduced the offer to readers yesterday with an eight page pullout section of the newspaper.
