Journalists at free London business daily City AM have voted in favour of union representation and to have their pay and conditions negotiated by the NUJ.
The National Union of Journalists said today that more than 95 per cent of the paper’s 26 journalists voted in favour of working with the union in a workplace ballot ordered by the Central Arbitration Committee.
NUJ head of publishing Barry Fitzpatrick said: “This vote confirms that people continue to regard trade union representation as vital in these turbulent times.”
City AM reported a circulation of 87,655 in January – down from a peak distribution of 102,135 in November. Official ABC data for February is due to be published tomorrow at midday.
