Journalists and Christina Lamb and Magnus Linklater among New Year honours

Sunday Times foreign correspondent Christina Lamb was honoured with an OBE in the Queen’s New Year honours for services to journalism.

Lamb has been with the Sunday Times since 2003 and won numerous awards for journalism which has seen her come under fire in the warzones of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Former editor of The Times in Scotland Magnus Linklater received a CBE for services to the arts and media in Scotland.

Journalist and community volunteer Emdadur Rahman was awarded the MBE for services to the community in Tower Hamlets and to the Bangladeshi media.

Dr John Barron Webster from Glasgow was awarded the British Empire medal for services to journalism.
