The Independent has announced it is to implement a 1 per cent rise for staff.
In a statement released this afternoon publisher Independent Print Ltd said: ‘After negotiations with the chapel the company has decided to implement a 1 per cent pay rise across the board for permanent staff and regular casuals, effective from 1 October.
‘The agreed minimum rates of pay will also be uprated by 1 per cent.
‘The company is deeply appreciative of the sacrifices being made by the staff at a difficult time for all”.
