Trinity Mirror's managing director of digital media has resigned after six months with the company.

The company today confirmed that Ian Dowds will leave in the summer, having joined Trinity Mirror in September. A spokesman said "I can confirm that he is serving his notice, and will be leaving this summer."
Dowds joined the company from News International where he was sales director.
At Trinity Mirror he was responsible for directing the multi-platform digital strategy, which in recent months has seen the launch of The Daily Mirror's new iPad app.
Trinity Mirror has focused its efforts on improving its digital portfolio, with the company also launching a new digital content team, announcing plans to include QR codes to allow readers to purchase items featured in its titles, as well as introducing PaperPay, a new platform that enables readers to buy newspapers using their mobile phones.
