The Daily Telegraph’s foreign editor, Will Kinnaird, is to leave his post later this year to train for a job in the Health Service.
Kinnaird, who was appointed to current role in August 2008, will leave journalism in August to study for two years to become a therapeutic radiographer.
Adrian Michaels, TMG group foreign editor, said: “Will has been a good-humoured, calm and talented leader of the desk through some turbulent global events and forged good relationships with all our correspondents. We wish him all the very best in his new career.”
Before joining Telegraph Media Group, Kinnaird spent six years at Associated Newspapers working as deputy news editor and night news editor on the Daily Mail.
Prior to moving to work for Associated he worked on the Western Daily Press and the Lincolnshire Echo.
Telegraph Media Group said it would announce a successor after discussions with interested candidates.
