Rose Nixon is promoted to editor-in-chief of Hello! on her return from maternity leave

By Freddy Mayhew

Former joint editor of Hello! magazine Rosie Nixon has been promoted to editor-in-chief, replacing Eduardo Sánchez Perez who takes on the role of chairman and editorial director.

Nixon, back from maternity leave yesterday, will manage the London editorial teams for the weekly celebrity magazine and its online platforms.

Alongside business director Kevin Petley, Nixon will also work on developing the brand and implementing changes designed to increase readership and audience share across all platforms.

She said: “It is a huge privilege to work for such a respected international brand and I look forward to leading our brilliant editorial team as we face the challenges ahead.”

The day-to-day running of Hello! will be managed by two long-serving members of the editorial team, Ronnie Whelan and Thomas Whitaker, who will both assume the new title of co-editor.

Kevin Petley, business director, said: “Whilst it remains important as a business to have a strong commercial base, we are also very aware as a publisher of the importance of great and relevant content and the need to continue to differentiate and provide something extra.

“These important changes announced within Hello’s editorial team will ensure our ambitions as a brand are fully realised.
