New columnists include cult music star Billy Bragg and new contributing editors include journalists Miranda Sawyer and Sylvia Patterson.
The magazine has also broadened its content with a new entertainment section which will cover films, books, radio and gadgets.
Rees said: ‘At a time when people have more choice than ever, we have been mindful to give readers not only more of all the things Q’s reputation has been founded upon – outstanding writing and photography, unparalleled access, extensive reviews, etc – but also more in general.”
Although Q’s circulation dropped 13.1 per cent year on year for the first half of 2008 to 113,174, the magazine retained its top spot as the biggest-selling music monthly, Bauer stablemate Mojo in second place with sales of 106,367 down 5.1 per cent year on year.
