Peter Andre is seeking damages in excess of £300,000 from IPC Media after launching a libel claim against the magazine publisher.
The singer, whose turbulent marriage to model Katie Price ended earlier this summer, is bringing a legal action against the company over an article that appeared in Now magazine.
The article, headlined ‘Jordan Explodes: ‘Tell the Truth Peter!’ was published in the celebrity magazine in July and also online.
Andre has instructed solicitors Lee & Thompson to act for him in his defamation claim.
In addition to damages he is seeking an injunction banning repetition the alleged libel.
