Men’s Health claims newsstand sales more than all other men’s lifestyle magazines combined in March

Monthly title Men's Health claims that it sold more copies of its March issue on the newsstand in the UK than all other paid-for men’s lifestyle titles combined.

Quoting figures from WHS wholesale, Men’s Health says that it sold 130,000 copies of its March issue on the newsstand, whilst the other titles within its market  – such as GQ, Esquire, FHM and Men’s Fitness – achieved a total combined March issue newsstand sale of 123,000.

Publisher Hearst Magazines said: "It is the first time since the heyday of FHM in the late 1990s that one magazine has had a higher newsstand sale than all of its competitors put together."

Men's Health was the top-selling men's magazine in the second half of 2012 with total average sales down 8.4 per cent year on year to 202,704. Next most paid-for title GQ had a total sale of 120,141.
