IPC Media has promoted NME.com deputy editor Luke Lewis to editor of the music news website.
Lewis, who takes up his new post with immediate effect, has been deputy editor of the site since April, 2008 when he joined from Q magazine.
He replaces former editor David Moynihan who has moved to work for Digital Spy.
As deputy editor of NME.com, Lewis overhauled the site’s blog section, and expanded editorial coverage to include films and metal.
Prior to joining Q in 2007, Lewis was associate editor of Kerrang!
Paul Cheal, publishing director of NME.com, said: ‘Amongst some extremely strong candidates for this position, Luke stands out as the right man for the job.
‘Quality journalism, round the clock reporting and expert opinion pieces are crucial to NME.COM remaining the first port of call for music fans and Luke is the ideal candidate to ensure NME.COM continues to deliver to them.”
