Siobhan Wykes, editor of real-life weekly Love It, is to leave her role just over a year after taking up the post.
She will be replaced by Jo Checkley, currently editor of That’s Life magazine, who will oversee the appointment of a new editorial team.
Wykes, who took over as editor of Love It in January last year, becomes the latest in a string of senior editorial staff to leave the Hubert Burda Media UK title in recent weeks.
Earlier this month Press Gazette reported how deputy editor Caroline Reid, features editor Steve Tooze, associate editor Nick Harding, celebrity editor John Marrs and deputy features editor Kelly Ellis had all left the title in recent weeks.
Burda UK said today that Wykes was leaving the company to “pursue new projects”.
Luke Patten, chief executive of Burda UK, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Siobhan for her enthusiasm and dedication to the magazine.
“Siobhan stepped up from associate editor when we purchased the title last year and has skilfully managed this transition period.”
Audit Bureau of Circulations figures released last month revealed that average weekly sales of Love It had fallen by 16.5 per cent year-on-year to 283,379 in the second half of last year.
Burda UK, which acquired the magazine last year from News International, has allocated a significant TV advertising budget to Love It for summer 2010, Patten told Press Gazette earlier this month.
