Karen Livermore is the new editor of women’s weekly Woman, moving across from IPC sister title Woman’s Own.
Both titles are currently struggling circulation-wise. Woman’s Own dropped 9.4 per cent year-on-year to 307,407 copies a week in the last audited figures and Woman dropped 10.6 per cent to 331,065.
Livermore takes over from Jackie Hatton who left at the start of this year to join NatMag women’s weekly Best (circulation 296,971).
Hatton replaced Jane Ennis who now edits Reveal (circulation 315,660, also published by NatMag).
Livermore began her career as a fashion writer before moving to the Daily Star as women’s editor. She joined IPC as editor of practical women’s monthly Essentials, before becoming editor of Family Circle in 2004.
She became editor of Woman’s Own in January 2007 overseeing what IPC described as a “£2m redevelopment of the brand”.
Livermore takes up her new job immediately. IPC said announcement about her successor at Woman’s Own ‘will be made in due course”.
