The trade magazine Jane's Police Review is to close later this month after 118 years.
The final issue of the magazine will be published on 18 November and its website will be shut down three days later, but it is not yet known what will happen to the eight journalists working on the title.
Publisher IHS is also scrapping its police handbooks and awards ceremony.
'We have come to this conclusion after a long period of careful consideration and we sincerely regret any inconvenience this will cause our loyal customers,'the publisher said in a statement.
'We would also like to thank the editor, Chris Herbert, the sales manager, Ian Barrett, and their respective teams for their commitment to Police Review, and the products and events which have grown up around it, both over recent years and in the remaining weeks during which we will be publishing."
Group publishing director Sean Howe, said: "The magazine has enjoyed a long and rewarding history, providing the UK policing community with the highest quality news, information and training packages, but unfortunately changes in the marketplace mean that period is drawing to a close."
Police Review was part of the Jane's Information Group of specialist publications bought by US company IHS in 2007.
The closure comes a week after the axing of the print edition of another leading trade magazine – Community Care.
