The magazine published on behalf of health food retailer Holland & Barrett is to go on sale at the newsstand.
The title – called Healthy magazine – is produced for the retailer by River Publishing and currently sold through 650 Holland & Barrett stores across the country, that will now be extended to selected WH Smith stores.
Healthy magazine is one of the leading healthy living magazines, dwarfing rivals Zest and Top Sante with average sales of 164,872 during the second half of last year, according to the most recent figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations – a year-on-year increase of 15.6 per cent.
Phil Geary, group director of marketing at NBTY Europe, parent company of Holland & Barrett, said: ‘It’s great to see Healthy finally go on sale on the newsstand.
‘We currently have just over 40 per cent market share of the health magazine category.
‘We know our customers value the outstanding editorial and design content of Healthy and launching onto the newsstand takes it to a new audience.
‘We are confident the newsstand launch will drive new customers into our stores.”
Healthy magazine, which launched in 1999, carries pages of expert advice, news, and health and well-being features and is published eight times a year.
