Hello magazine has announced it is moving its publication day to Monday from next month, beating rival OK to the newsstand by 24 hours.
The title has signed a printing deal with Associated Newspapers which will see it come out on Monday instead of Tuesday from 1 June.
Publishing director Charlotte Stockting said speeding up the production process would benefit both readers and advertisers.
“It will be a major advantage for Hello to be on sale on a Monday,” she said.
“Our readers want to be constantly kept up to date with the latest news and exclusives from society’s A-list and so this move will further enhance the credibility of Hello as the premier celebrity weekly.
“From a commercial perspective this change will also have a major impact on our readership figures.”
In the last set of consumer magazine ABCs, covering the second half of 2008, the circulation gap between Hello and its bigger rival OK stood at 84,855.
Hello’s circulation was down 7.1 per cent year on year at 423,649.
OK, which is published by Richard Desmond’s Northern and Shell group, fell 25.6 per cent in the same period, at 508,504.
