Magazine publisher H Bauer could close its television listings title TV Quick after entering a period of consultation with staff over its future.
The publisher said this afternoon that the consultation was with its TV editorial and listings departments, which also produces its Total TV Guide and TV Choice titles.
David Goodchild, managing director, said: ‘We have entered a 30 day process of consultation with staff in our TV editorial and listings departments on the future of TV Quick magazine.
‘This is an internal matter for discussion and only when a conclusion is reached will there be further comment from the company.”
TV Quick saw its circulation plunge 24.5 per cent year-on-year in the second half of last year to a weekly sale of 122,847, according to figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
The magazine’s drop in circulation placed it eighth out of ten magazines in the TV listings sector.
Total TV Guide, which is ranked as the ninth most popular TV listings magazine, had an average circulation of 110,727 over the same period; however it registered a negligible fall in circulation of 0.4 per cent year on year.
TV Choice remains the biggest selling TV listings title – and the biggest selling actively purchased magazine in the UK – with an average weekly sale of 1,302,382 in the second half of last year.
