The editor-in-chief of Mojo and Kerrang magazines, Phil Alexander, has assumed additional responsibility of music monthly Q.
Q senior editor Matt Mason will continue to lead the music monthly's editorial team on a day-to-day basis but will now report to editor-in-chief Alexander.
Alexander said: “Q plays a huge role to play in UK music and there’s more that it can do. We expect it to grow and evolve. I look forward to helping Matt Mason and a team that is full of talented people do that.“
Bauer Media’s senior music team now consists of Alexander, Mason, Mojo senior editor Danny Eccleston and Kerrang editor James McMahon.
“No one reaches more music fans in the UK than Q, Mojo and Kerrang. The three brands are the crown jewels of UK music publishing and we believe that there are a large number of opportunities for all three,“ said Alexander, who takes on his new role with immediate effect and reports to publisher David Bostock.
“Our aim is to examine these and to ensure that we are making new things for audiences that truly love music.“
According to ABC figures, Q recorded an average circulation of 52,781 in 2013. Meanwhile, Kerrang recorded a circulation of 35,127 and Mojo of 74,203.
