Special interest magazine publisher Future has unveiled a revamp of its biggest selling UK magazine, Total Film.
The publisher is seeking to widen the appeal of the magazine amongst cinema-goers with a relaunche that hits newsstands today.
According to Future, changes to the £3.99 magazine are the most substantial since it launched thirteen years ago and will include a full front-to-back redesign incorporating a new size, more pages, new regular sections and an increased number of reviews and features.
The new-look magazine will follow up the print revamp with the launch of a £1.79 iPhone application in August, which will carry editorial content and cinema listings.
In addition, Future will expand its monthly Total Film Screening Club, which shows early movie previews, and look more closely at further live events for the brand.
According to the most recent circulation figures supplied by the Audit Bureau of Circulations, Total Film recorded a year-on-year fall of 5.8 per cent in the second half of last year. In an otherwise strong period for film magazines, the period saw it circulate an average of 81,029 copies each month.
Rival film title Empire, which is published by Bauer Media, recorded a circulation rise in the period, climbing 2.4 per cent year on year to an average monthly circulation of 194,239.
