Fighting for quality news media in the digital age.

Bauer launches new tablet-friendly Mojo website

By Gabriel Samuels

MOJO, the UK’s biggest-selling music magazine, has launched a new website.

The new site (mojo4music.com) is designed to provide greater compatibility with smart phones and tablets, according to publisher Bauer Media.

Bauer said the site will issue exclusive long-form content not available in the magazine’s print version alongside short-form Track of the Day and Clip of the Day features.

Phil Alexander, editor-in-chief at MOJO, said: “The re-launch of MOJO4Music is great news for music obsessives around the world. We believe in giving our readers access to the very best music – now they can do that whenever and wherever they want.”

All content featured on mojo4music.com will be produced and published by the editorial team under Senior Editor, Danny Eccleston and Online Assistant Editor Ross Bennett.

Rhino Records were announced as commercial launch partner and will take over the site for seven days to showcase their catalogue including the likes of Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and The Smiths.

The site will promote MOJO’s “ethos of covering music that is built to last, covering the best new music as well as celebrating the most legendary performers in modern music”.

The announcement of the new site comes in the same week that Bauer finalised the purchase of Absolute Radio for an estimated £25m.

The media giant bought MOJO from Emap International in 2007. In November 2008 Bauer announced the closure of the magazine’s sister radio station Mojo Radio.

The improvements come ahead of the magazine’s 20th anniversary which will feature heavily in the upcoming November issue.
