Telegraph launches redesigned mobile-first website

By Dominic Ponsford

The Telegraph has redesigned its website with a focus on mobile, rather than desktop, readers.

The move reflects the fact that most readers are now coming to news websites from mobile.

Here is the press release announcing the move:

We are delighted to welcome readers to our new look website today.

The new site is fully responsive, ensuring it looks good regardless of the screen size readers are viewing it on – smartphone, tablet or desktop.

Key features include:

·         A new News stream with a rolling page of the latest stories of the day – arranged in chronological order so readers can easily find out everything that has happened in the past 10 minutes, the past hour or the past day. The business home page and the sport homepage also feature a similar list

·         Access to enhanced sports data, with live scores on mobile to in depth statistics for every Premier League team

·         New topic pages that collect Telegraph journalism from across a range of desks, making it easy for readers to find the best of the Telegraph’s comprehensive reporting, accessed via tags at the bottom of articles

·         A redesigned navigation, making it quicker and simpler for users to find their favourite sections and articles

The new site has been extensively user tested, with hundreds of in-depth interviews with Telegraph readers and A/B tests conducted as part of the development process.

More will follow as the site continues to evolve and develop.
