Former Independent parliamentary sketch writer Simon Carr has found a new home with the Guido Fawkes blog.
The journalist, who was described by Tony Blair as "the most vicious sketch writer working in Britain today", will join the website immediately.
His first sketch will be on tomorrow's Prime Minister's Questions.
Guido's news editor Harry Cole said: "Simon is going to be our very first parliamentary sketch writer. He's going to start off covering PMQs but he'll be available for any parliamentary set-pieces or Select Committee meetings.
"He is going to be the latest part of our growing media conglomerate. We have been a big fan of his for years as he is of a very similar political persuasion."
Guido's owner Paul Staines added: "Simon is a great parliamentary sketch writer and he's been around for absolute ages. We have always been pretty viscious and Simon isn't afraid of upsetting anyone. He has regularly upset the Speaker."
According to Staines, the site now has an editorial staff of four.
"We do not have any mysterious backer. We want to grow at a sensible pace because I cannot afford to make a loss. But by bringing Simon on board I think we will be able to bring in more advertisers.
"We have been covering more media stories and parliamentary reports. Our stuff mightn't be mass market but the right people read it and the potential is huge."
