By Freddy Mayhew

Former Number 10 spin doctor Alastair Campbell has joined the website International Business Times as a regular commentator.

Campbell will write a fortnightly column for the global news and analysis website.

He joins a roster of new columnists for the UK edition of the site including new business editor Gaurav Sharma, broadcaster and author Yasmin Alibhai-Brown (who wrote for The Independent until its print closure in March), former chief leader writer at The Daily Mail Michael Toner, technology writer Ben Rooney and sports writer Steve Busfield (formerly of The Guardian).

Speaking about the new additions to the IB Times,  which has 70 London editorial staff, comment editor Laura Davis said: “With the addition of our new writers, we will seek to challenge and entertain our audience with up-to-the minute commentary.”

The IB Times has seven global editions and is published in four different languages.
