ITV News has unveiled a tailor-made mobile news service, to give subscribers highlights of the daily broadcasts.
Newsfix, which is due to launch next Monday, will deliver the main ITV News stories directly to 3G mobile phones for a subscription charge of £2 a week.
Subscribers will then receive bespoke bitesize bulletins of up to two minutes at the beginning and end of the working day, around 9am and 5pm. At weekends and bank holidays, there will be one bulletin available from lunchtime.
Editor of ITV News Deborah Turness said: ‘People want to be able to catch up on the big stories of the day wherever they are and Newsfix offers the highlights of ITV News’s coverage on the go. The service perfectly complements our multi-platform offering, which will be fully rolled out over the coming months.’
ITN’s multimedia division ITN On will produce the service.
