The shortlists for the main categories of the BSME editors of the year awards have been announced. Press Gazette editor Ian Reeves is nominated in the editor of the year category for weekly business and professional magazines.
The other nominations in the category are: Isabel Allen, Architects’ Journal; Giles Barrie, Property Week; Denise Chevin, Building; Jean Gray, Nursing Standard; Phil Johnson, Pulse; and Jane King, Farmers Weekly.
The nominations for the Fiona MacPherson new editor of the year award are: Paul Brannigan, Kerrang!; Matthew D’Ancona, The Spectator; Ed Grenby, The Sunday Times Travel Magazine; Sarah Hedley, Scarlet; John Kampfner, New Statesman; Lisa McFarlane, Real Homes; and Gordon Thomson, Time Out London.
The shortlist for the society’s innovation and brand building initiative of the year awards will be announced in mid October.

The awards, together with the society’s Mark Boxer award and editors’ editor of the year award, will be presented at the London Hilton on Tuesday 14 November.
