n A final call is being made for entries to this year’s £10,000 David Watt Prize, which is awarded to journalists whose work has made a significant contribution to the clarification and understanding of political issues.
The entry must have been published in print during 2007 in an English languagenewspaper or journal and should not exceed 5,000 words.
The closing date for receipt of entries is 31 March.

The winner will be announced on 3 July at a presentation lunch in London and the guest speaker will be Frank Gardner OBE.
Journalists are invited to enter the first European Parliament Prize for Journalism with the chance of winning 5,000 euros.
The prize has four categories – printed press, radio, TV and internet – and is awarded to journalists whose coverage of Europe has promoted a better understanding of the EU institutions and policies.
Contributions must be published or broadcast between
1 May 2007 and 30 April 2008, and in one of the EU’s official languages.
The deadline for submissions is 15 May and the
