BBC South East Today reporter Caroline Feraday has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement by the Duke of Edinburgh in his role as president of the City & Guilds of London Institute.
Feraday has been chosen as one of two recipients this year in recognition of her outstanding contribution to radio and journalism.
Feraday – who studied for a City & Guilds qualification in radio and journalism at Mid-Kent College in the Nineties – said: ‘This came as a complete surprise. I’ve been in journalism since I was 18 and I feel honoured to receive not just recognition, but royal recognition, for my work.”
After starting out on work experience with BBC Radio Kent and Invicta FM, Fereday got her big break with Capital FM in London
After Capital, a stint at BBC Radio FiveLive beckoned, covering news, business, travel and breakfast broadcasts.
This was followed by an opportunity to anchor LBC’s drivetime show. Feraday has also worked on GMTV, VH1 and Sky One.
