Top Gear Magazine co-branding deal first for BCC

By admin

Scandinavian Top Gear fans will soon be benefiting from a co-branding deal between BBC Magazines and Norwegian publisher Hjemmet Mortensen.

In the first deal of its kind for the BBC, a new magazine will be launched carrying content from Mortensen’s car title Vi Menn Bil alongside syndicated Top Gear Magazine content under a five-year deal.

The first issue of the co-branded title, which will be edited by Vi Menn Bil’s editor Svein-Erik Hole, will go on sale in the coming weeks.

The magazine will be sold together with Vi Menn, a weekly magazine with a circulation of more than 75,000.

Six further versions of the new co-branded magazine will be sold throughout the year.

Joanna Marshall, BBC Magazines’ head of licensing and syndication, said: ‘We are very excited to be working with the publishers of Norway’s leading men’s title to bring Top Gear magazine’s world-renowned content to Norwegian fans of the brand.”

According to the latest Audit Bureau Circulations figures, Top Gear Magazine had a monthly average of 190,375 each month last year.
